Dissection…

It wasn’t as scary as I thought and I wasn’t really disgusted by the view of a full pail of formulated white mice inside it… Picking the mice was rather tedious because all the mice looked the same distorted a little and so small fragile looking. Then it was time to open its hands and legs as wide as we could… While trying to force open the legs as widely as we could I could hear cracks as I force open the poor little white mice… You should have seen the look on ML’s and JM’s face when they first saw the mice in the pail… The were so disgusted by the look… Who would blame them anyway cos its our first time and first attempt… Then came the part where we had to nail the mice onto the boards and start snipping the skin of the rat into 2equal halves… JM recovered from fright extremely fast… Way to go girl… But ML hehehehehe… The mice was then opened and the skin was pinned to the wood block… After that, it was time to snip away the skin of the mice from the abdomen downwards… After that, we had to find the lungs and other parts of the inner parts… Well, since it was our first time dissecting mice we were all rather lost and some of us even accidentally ruined the inner part of the mice a little… Some broke the lungs, some accidentally cut off extra parts; some scraped of the liver a little (that’s me)… Oh ya, you should have seen Dana… He went to cut out the mice’s tails and held it in his hand and later paraded around class to show his “masterpieces”… Hey that’s scary ok… Seeing tons of mice tail moving about in class… Brian on the other hand was so enthusiastic he was happily taking pictures of others dissecting and happily experimenting on his own mice… Definitely, one of the experiences that I will not forget in future since I’m not really planning to take up science courses in future…
